Wat Pra Tat Doisaket |
Wat Pra Tat Doisaket is a very attractive and unique buddhist temple in Doisaket. Located only 1.2 km. from Him Doi House and surprisingly we can see the golden chedi (pagoda) of the main temple from our place.
The temple was built in the year 1112, legend says that Lord Buddha once came to Doisaket and was visited by the naka to whom he offered his hair for worship. Like Doi Suthep temple, the main element of Wat Doisaket is its golden chedi that contains a relic of Lord Buddha. The interior walls of the ordination hall are decoreted with modern spiritual murals, painted by Thai artist, Khun Chaiwat Wannanon. Inside the temple also stands a large outdoor sitting Buddha image with a small museum under it and two large trees in the courtyard. A little further up, there is another temple with a large Buddha under construction (free entrance) whose platform offers a magnificent view over Wat Phra Tat Doisaket and the valley. A little further away is a garden with statues of scences from Lord Buddha's life. Retrieved from www.thailandee.com |

Mae Kuang Dam is one of the main reservoirs of Chaing Mai. Located only 10 minutes drive from Him Doi House @ Doisaket and actually we can notice the dam from the balcony of our Studio rooms on the 3rd floor.
The dam allows visitors to access to some parts of it, but including to the lake area. Guests can rent small boats for taking a lake tour. This costs 400 Baht per hour. It is also a hit for people who love fishing. We have seen some men taking time quietly at many points of the reservoir for fishing at weekends. There are 2 resturants offers Thai food and fish menus. The ingredients are fresh and the taste of the food they cook are very good too. |

The brand new suspension bridge has become a new landmark of Doi Saket. The twin bridges connect two sides of the dam together and let people cross them by walk, bicycles and motorcycles. Here offers us picturesque views on the surrounding mountains. We ourselves have crossed to the other side of the mountain by our scooter. It was fun and the trail was tough.
The bridges are getting more colorful since tourist couples put on their love locks along the bridges. The suspension bridge is located in the Mae Kuang Dam on the same direction to the port. It is quite crowded on weekends. |

Only 10-15 minutes drive from Him Doi House @ Doisaket to the nearest local public hotsprings that everyone can enjoy soaking in hot spring as well as having massages served by local Thai therapists. The local municipality government here recently finished a huge renovation to make the area cleaner and more attractive with more sharing outdoor hot spring pools, private pools and bathrooms for visitors, plus a free hot stream for dangling feet in the mixed hot mineral water. We usually recommend this relaxing place for our guests and friends who come to Doi Saket since it is easy to access and always beautiful with surrounding mountain ranges and local farmers' paddy rice fields. It is opened every day from 8:00 a.m - 6:00 p.m. Local coffee shops and restaurants are easy to find in the village of the hotsprings located. Photos credit: Page เช็คอินเชียงใหม่ Checkin Chiangmai |

We truly recommend this place for everyone who looks for an easy stop on the high way road to have fun and get relaxed with friends and families. Kids also will love it here since they can get closed to and have close-up photos with the fruit. They serve very good breakfast, coffee, drinks and smoothies from real fresh fruits, salads, steaks and some Thai menus. They open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. |
